Did you know that Honeybees aren’t native to North America at all? They were brought to the East Coast by Europeans in 1632 and it would be another 231 years after that that they’d make it all the way to California.
But Honeybees didn’t get their start in Europe either. In fact in a study published in Nature Genetics, researchers from Uppsala University believe that the species most probably originates from Asia, and not from Africa as previously thought.
